"RENT" is a rock musical, loosely based on the Puccini opera "La Bohème". The musical looks at the lives of a group of impoverished artists and bohemians, living in Manhattan's Lower East Side, and dealing with the growing AIDs crisis in the 1990s. The Atlanta Opera produced The Bohème Project to present"RENT" & "La Bohème" in repertory. The site specific production brings the audience into the world of young artists, who face life and death during different pandemics, in different centuries.
