Amy is a costume designer based in the New York area. Her love of reading, fashion & old movies are a constant inspiration for her work as a costume designer.
She believes that collaboration is key to creating a strong & clear visual message through design. The hours spent finding the perfect research images & conversations discussing the little details are some of her favorite parts about designing.
The transformative nature of costume design allows her to combine big gestures with small details to realize each character.
She has worked as a designer & assistant designer with theater companies around the country. She feels that creating art around the country is allows her to explore other cities, meet new people, and to incorporate all the experiences back into creating art.
She received an MFA in Costume Design from UC San Diego and a BFA in Theater, with a minor in Art History, from NYU, Tisch School of the Arts. Following her undergraduate years, she freelanced in NYC & worked at The Juilliard School as a costume design assistant on drama & opera productions.
She is a member of United Scenic Artists, USA Local 829.
